3 BPP's, 3 NST's, a Growth Scan, and....Oh yeah, a 7.2 Earthquake.

So, let's get to the good stuff first. Baby Gray is growing on her own curve. Forget the norm, she has to do it her way. Is this a glimpse of what she's going to be like? Doing everything her own way? The BPP's and NST's show she's strong all around, her heart looks great, the blood flow to her brain is normal, and she even showed us that she can breath. But, she is a fiesty one. The U/S technician caught her making a pouty face (see below). I guess she didn't want to be bothered with the Tech pressing down on my belly. Overall, she looks great, she's just still very small and is growing on her own curve. For size, she was in the 4th percentile two weeks ago (BTW, I thought the Doc told me 10, but I was wrong) and she's still in the 4th percentile today. She gained about 11 ounces in 2 weeks and is now 4lb 9oz. Her gestational age is 32 weeks (should be 35 weeks). Doctor's are okay with her growth and decided to let her bake some more, but with more testing twice a week. Since her BPP scores look so good, they decided I no longer have to do those. I'm now only doing the NST's and the AFI (Amniotic Fluid) checks twice a week. One thing my OB told me was that most likely, I'll be delivering her via c-section due to the placenta abnormalities. Not what I wanted at all, but will do whatever is safe for both of us.

Easter Sunday started out like any other Sunday. Enjoying the day with Ryan on the couch (since I'm still on modified bedrest). At about 3:40 in the afternoon we felt some shaking. Normally, when a earthquake hits, you kinda sit there wondering if it will go away, but this one didn't. This one kept going for about a minute and was strong. A 7.2 earthquake hit baja Mexico about 100 miles away and we could feel it pretty good. We are in a mid-rise building in downtown San Diego on the 4th floor. Not so bad in height, but high enough to feel the swaying of the building. We've had several aftershocks, I think I counted 7 or 8 with a 5.0 mag. or above. And as I sit here typing this, we just had another one (3.6). All of this was nerve wracking, but having to go outside in my PJ's, messed up hair, and no make-up was traumatizing enough.

I'm looking forward to a calmer few weeks, Ryan and I has had enough excitement over the last two week to last us for awhile (Well, at least until I go into labor!).
